So I have now seen Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness four times so I think it's about time I talked about it. In short, I loved it. I was not a fan of Doctor Strange before the first film, I barely even knew the character existed. I screened the first movie for work and it was an instant top 5 MCU movie for me and Strange became one of my favorite MCU characters. I fell in love with the character so strongly, it inspired me to try playing as a mage rather than a warrior in Skyrim, and I made a version of myself as a Sorcerer Supreme. Even with Spider-Man and Captain America portrayed to perfection, Doctor Strange remained a strong contender for my favorite MCU character, especially with his cameo in Thor: Ragnarok and his MVP performances in Avengers: Infinity War. Needless to say, I was super excited for his solo sequel. Past the line will include spoilers. It's no secret my all time favorite superhero is Batman. I have an appreciation for most of the cinematic Batmen for what they are. I even adore Batman & Robin for at least containing a moving interaction between Batman and Mister Freeze: "Vengeance isn't power, anyone can take a life. But to give life, that's true power, A power you once had. So, I'm asking you, Victor Fries, help me save another life. Show me how to cure MacGregor's syndrome stage 1, And maybe you can also save the life of the man your wife once loved. He's still inside you Victor. Buried, Deep within the snow. Will you help me, Doctor?" My all time favorites are Batman Begins and Mask of the Phantasm. That is, they were my top two before I saw The Batman last night. This movie was everything I wanted it to be and more (and a few things I didn't want it to be but those are spoilers and less important). I was so over DC movies when this started development. Wonder Woman 1984 was one of the best 2020 Christmas presents I could have asked for! It is my DC Trinity along with Shazam and Birds of Prey. One of my all-time fav superhero movies. Even better than the first Wonder Woman. Patty Jenkins delivered and I wish she was in charge of a DC cinematic universe. Gal Gadot truly embodies Wonder Woman. Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, and the Mandalorian Pedro Pascal are equally awesome as Steve Trevor, Barbara Minerva, and Max Lord. Gonna watch this movie a lot for the 31 days it's on HBO Max.
